Favor Fridays: A Testimony of God’s Healing and Faithfulness

Today, on Favor Fridays, I feel especially moved to share a testimony of God’s faithfulness in my family’s journey through health. The journey has been filled with moments of deep concern, powerful prayers, and unwavering faith, especially as we’ve seen God’s healing hand in my mom’s life over these past two years. I recently listened to All Things Well (Live) by Enrique Holmes and Micah Stampley, a song that resonated deeply with me. The lyrics proclaim, “You do all things well,” a truth I’ve seen in my family’s life and one that brings me peace as we continue to believe God for other blessings.

While there are still things I’m trusting Him to fulfill in my life and in the lives of my wife, my mom, and our family members, I celebrate today the healing and protection He has already provided. Health is such a blessing—a precious gift from God that we can’t take for granted. There were times over the past two years when I was really concerned, especially about my mom, but God not only saw her, but He brought her through. We’ve seen progress, strength, and hope, and for that, I am grateful.

Psalm 103:2-3 (NKJV) reminds us, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.” In the Amplified Bible, this verse is expanded to, “Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget any of His benefits; Who forgives all your sins, Who heals all your diseases.” This scripture beautifully encourages us to look back at God’s faithfulness and remember all He has done, especially in the area of health.

The Gift of Health: A Reflection of God’s Grace

The past two years have deepened my understanding of what it means to rely fully on God, especially when our health or the health of a loved one is in jeopardy. When my mom faced health challenges, I was reminded of my complete dependence on Him. I thought of her strength, her resilience, and the many prayers I had prayed on her behalf, each one seeking God’s mercy and healing power. As All Things Well expresses, “There’s nobody like You,” reminding us of the unique and complete care that only God can provide. It’s often in these moments of need that we truly witness His healing touch.

Through those challenges, I also held on to the assurance in Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV): “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” The Amplified Bible version of this verse reads, “Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].”

Each time I turned to prayer, I found peace in the knowledge that He was with us, guiding us through each step, each doctor’s appointment, each moment of recovery. Psalm 103 also reminds us to “forget not all His benefits,” a call to remember that God’s blessings surround us constantly. Even on days when I couldn’t see the full picture, I was reminded that God’s hand was working, bringing healing in ways beyond my understanding. All Things Well beautifully captures this concept of God’s perfect care, a truth we can hold to in any trial.

A Testimony of Healing and Renewed Strength

Seeing my mom emerge from moments of weakness into strength has been a powerful witness of God’s healing. While I continue to pray for complete restoration and the blessings we’re still trusting Him for, I celebrate the improvements and health we’ve already witnessed. Health can be easy to overlook until we are reminded of how much of a gift it is. And, on days when we do find ourselves or our loved ones facing health battles, faith can carry us where we can’t walk on our own.

One thing I’ve realized is that while we wait on God to move, there’s always purpose in the process. Faith doesn’t eliminate the challenges, but it does change how we face them. With faith, we can move from worry to peace, from fear to hope, and from doubt to trust. Psalm 30:2 (NKJV) says, “O Lord my God, I cried to You for help, and You have healed me.” In the Amplified Bible, it states, “O Lord my God, I cried to You for help, and You have healed me.” Every time I hear those words, I’m reminded of how God has been our constant, our healer, our support.

Faith in the Waiting

This journey with my family has shown me the importance of faith, even when answers are

delayed. Sometimes, waiting is the hardest part. Yet, God’s perfect timing is a reminder that He knows what we need, when we need it. Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV) says, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the

earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” The Amplified Bible puts it like this: “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

Knowing that God’s plans are greater than ours is a comforting reminder to surrender our concerns to Him fully. We may not understand the reason behind certain challenges, but we can trust that He is always at work, doing all things well.

Hope and Encouragement for Those Waiting

To those who are still believing for healing, I encourage you to stay hopeful. Whether you are praying for yourself or a loved one, know that God’s promises are true. When the lyrics in All Things Well proclaim, “You do all things well,” it’s a powerful declaration of faith and trust, especially when we’re still waiting for answers.

Our faith is strengthened in these seasons of waiting, reminding us to trust in God’s timing and purpose. As we continue to seek His will, our trust grows, and we find peace in the knowledge that He is working everything out for our good.

Gratitude for Every Blessing

Psalm 103 encourages us to bless the Lord and to remember all He has done. Health is a gift, and I am grateful for each breath, each step, and each day of strength He has granted my family and me. Each moment is a blessing, a reminder of God’s unfailing love and presence. His care is not just for our spiritual needs but also for our physical well-being.

On this Favor Friday, I celebrate not only the health God has restored but also the blessings He has given and the hope we continue to hold for the future. When I see my mom’s health improving and my family blessed with the strength to face each day, I can only thank God for His constant faithfulness. We are a living testimony of His healing power, and I am humbled to see His work in our lives.

A Prayer of Thanksgiving and Hope

Lord, thank You for Your healing and protection. Thank You for the strength You’ve given us, for the

peace You place in our hearts, and for the hope that sustains us every day. I lift up the health concerns we continue to face and place them in Your capable hands. We trust in Your perfect love and healing power, knowing that You are with us, carrying us forward with every breath.

Today, as I reflect on all that He has done, I am reminded that God does indeed “do all things well.” His care for us is beyond measure, and His love is constant, especially in times of waiting. May we never forget to bless Him for His faithfulness, and may we hold onto hope, knowing that He is with us every step of the way.

This Favor Friday, let us be reminded of the healing, strength, and hope found in God’s love. May we continue to believe, continue to trust, and continue to wait on His perfect timing, for we know that “all things work together for good to those who love God” (Romans 8:28 NKJV).
