Favor Fridays with Tony: God: The Ultimate Provider

Hey, everyone! Thanks for joining me for Favor Fridays. Today, I want to share a little bit of my journey and how God has been showing up in my life as the ultimate provider.

If you’ve ever doubted whether God sees your needs, cares about you, or can really come through when it feels like you’ve hit a wall, let me tell you—He absolutely does, and I’m living proof. I’ll also talk about why I faithfully tithe and how honoring God with what we have opens the door for His blessings in every area of our lives.

Taking a Leap of Faith

It’s been 42 days since I took one of the biggest leaps of faith in my life. After praying about it, talking with my wife, getting advice from family, and confiding in friends, I decided it was time to leave my job and step into my God-given dream. I felt called to fully pursue being a creator—an author, social media influencer, podcaster, and motivational speaker.

This decision didn’t come lightly. I loved the stability of a paycheck and the extra income I’d get from additional assignments. But for months, God was telling me, “It’s time to go.”

At the start of this year, after returning to work from the Christmas break, God began making it clear that this would be my last year at my job. Little by little, He moved me from the office I’d called my second home to the front desk—a transition that mirrored the shift He was preparing in my heart.

One day, my wife told me, “God said this would be your last year there. You’ve already packed up; there’s nothing left to do but head out the front door.”

I thought I’d at least make it to Christmas, but that wasn’t God’s plan. By the end of September, it became clear that it was time to step out in faith and trust Him completely. My last day was Friday, October 4, 2024, and I left on good terms.

Faithful Tithing: Trusting God With Everything

Throughout this journey, one thing I’ve committed to is faithfully tithing. Whether it’s a steady paycheck or unexpected blessings, I tithe everything I receive. Why? Because it’s my way of honoring God as my provider and showing that I trust Him to meet all my needs.

Malachi 3:10 says:"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."

Tithing is a biblical principle, and it’s not just about money—it’s about trusting God with what’s most valuable to us. When we give back to Him, He promises to bless us abundantly.

Proverbs 3:9-10 adds:"Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine."

When I tithe, I’m reminded that everything I have comes from Him anyway. It’s my way of saying, “God, I trust You to take care of me, and I want to be faithful with what You’ve given me.”

God’s Faithfulness in Action

Just yesterday, I saw God’s faithfulness in an amazing way. I had bills due, and I didn’t have the money to cover them. I told my wife, “We need to pay these bills, but I don’t know where the money’s going to come from.”

Five minutes later—yes, just five minutes!—I got a phone call, and not only did I get exactly what I needed through CashApp, but I received even more than I had asked for.

This isn’t the first time God has come through for me like this. Time and time again, He shows me that He’s got me. When I’m faithful, He’s more than faithful.

God’s Provision in Scripture

The Bible is filled with stories of God’s provision. Here are just a few examples that inspire me to trust Him:

  1. Abraham and Isaac: In Genesis 22, God provided a ram as a substitute sacrifice when Abraham was prepared to offer his son, Isaac. Abraham named that place "Jehovah Jireh," meaning “The Lord Will Provide.”

  2. The Israelites in the Wilderness::During their 40 years in the wilderness, God provided manna from heaven (Exodus 16) and water from a rock (Exodus 17:6). Even in the desert, He met their every need.

  3. Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand: With just five loaves and two fish, Jesus fed over 5,000 people (Matthew 14:13-21). His provision wasn’t just enough—it was abundant, with leftovers to spare.

These stories remind me that God’s provision isn’t limited by circumstances. He is faithful, generous, and able to do more than we could ever ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

How God Provides

God’s provision shows up in different ways, and sometimes it’s not how we expect.

  1. Through Open Doors: New opportunities, relationships, and paths often come at just the right time.

  2. Through Closed Doors: What feels like rejection can actually be protection. God closes doors to redirect us toward something better.

  3. Through Unexpected Blessings: Just like the ravens that fed Elijah (1 Kings 17:4), God often uses unexpected sources to meet our needs.

  4. Through His People: The body of Christ is a powerful way God provides. Acts 2:44-45 describes how the early church shared everything so no one was in need.

God’s Provision Through Unexpected People

One of the incredible things about God’s provision is that He can use anyone to bless us—even our enemies, people who don’t like us, and strangers. Throughout the Bible and in our own lives, God often chooses the least likely sources to fulfill His purposes. When we trust Him, we find that He can work through anyone to meet our needs and advance His plan.

Consider the story of Joseph, who was sold into slavery by his own brothers. They intended harm, but God used that situation to elevate Joseph to a position of influence in Egypt, where he would later save his family and countless others from famine. Genesis 50:20 reminds us: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”

God can take even the actions of those who oppose us and turn them into blessings. He can work through strangers who have no personal connection to us but feel compelled to help, and He can even open doors through people who may not have the best intentions. This reminds us that no one is outside of God’s reach or beyond His ability to use for our good.

Living With Gratitude

One thing I’ve learned on this journey is the importance of gratitude. When I take the time to thank God for His blessings, it shifts my focus from what I don’t have to what I do have.

James 1:17 reminds us:"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."

Living with gratitude not only honors God but also deepens my faith. It reminds me that He’s always been there for me and always will be.

Even though I don’t have as much as I used to monetarily, I still give to others however I can. Whether it’s being there for someone, giving a small donation to support their dreams, sharing a word of encouragement, or promoting their products or vision to others, I believe in lifting others up. God’s provision inspires me to bless others, no matter my own situation.

Encouragement for You

If you’re facing uncertainty, I want to encourage you to trust God as your provider. He sees you, He cares about you, and He’s working behind the scenes to meet your needs.

Philippians 4:19 says:"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."

Take time to reflect on how God has provided for you in the past. Let those memories fuel your faith as you trust Him for the future.

Steps to Trust God’s Provision

  1. Pray and Seek God: Bring your needs to Him and trust that He hears you.

  2. Tithe: Faithfully honor God with your finances and trust His promise to bless you abundantly.

  3. Be Grateful: Keep a journal of the ways God has provided, both big and small.

  4. Be Generous: Look for ways to bless others, knowing that God will replenish what you give.

Closing Thoughts

God is our ultimate provider. Whether you’re in a season of abundance or facing challenges, you can trust that He is working all things together for your good.

For me, stepping into this new chapter of life as a creator has been a leap of faith, but it’s also been an opportunity to see God’s hand at work in amazing ways. I pray that my journey encourages you to trust Him more deeply and to walk in faith, knowing that He will meet your needs.
