Today marks a significant milestone: the 100th daily "Tony Posts" I have shared since my last day as a full-time employee at the radio station I worked at, and my 14th "Reap What You Sow Mondays" post since I made a major career change and began pursuing my God-given dreams.
Reflecting on this journey, I am filled with gratitude, not only for the progress but also for the lessons learned along the way. It hasn’t been easy, but every step has been worth it. Today, I want to share the importance of trusting the process, staying faithful, and honoring the journey, no matter how difficult it may seem.
Zechariah 4:10 (NKJV)
"For who has despised the day of small things? For these seven rejoice to see The plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the LORD, Which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth."
This verse reminds us that every great achievement starts with small, seemingly insignificant beginnings. Often, we are tempted to overlook or undervalue these humble starts, but God sees and honors every step we take in faith.
A Bold Leap of Faith
It has been 101 days since, after much prayer, advice from family members, and heartfelt discussions with friends, I left my job at the radio station to pursue my God-given dreams.
This wasn’t an easy decision. I had worked at my former company for years, enjoying the steady paycheck, bonuses, and the comfort of a routine. But at the start of this year, when I returned to work after the 2023 Christmas holiday, God began whispering to me: “This will be your last year here.”
At first, I resisted. I had built a second home in my office and found security in the familiar. But God, in His infinite wisdom, began moving me—literally and spiritually. Bit by bit, He transitioned me from the office I had grown so attached to, placing me at the front desk. It was a physical shift that mirrored the spiritual preparation He was doing in my heart.
One day, my wife said something that struck me deeply: “God said this would be your last year there. You’ve already packed up, and there’s nothing left to do but head out the front door.”
Even then, I thought I had more time—at least until Christmas. But God’s timing is rarely our own. By the end of September, it was clear that I needed to take the leap. Leaving was incredibly difficult, but God, in His faithfulness, had already laid a foundation for this new chapter.
He worked it out so that I still have some income coming in and even occasional work with my former employer. But adjusting to this new lifestyle hasn’t been without its challenges. There have been moments of uncertainty, where I’ve had to trust God more deeply than ever before.
The Courage to Begin
Making a major career change was both terrifying and exhilarating. It required stepping out of my comfort zone, leaving behind the familiar, and trusting that God had something greater in store for me. I didn’t have all the answers, but I had faith. The courage to take that first step came from knowing that God had planted a seed in my heart and it was my responsibility to nurture it.
Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)
"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
This promise from God gave me strength when fear tried to take hold. It reminded me that I wasn’t alone in this journey. God was walking with me, guiding every step.
A Testament to God’s Provision
In November, I faced a moment that tested my faith. Bills were due, and I had no money left. I turned to my wife and said, “We need to pay these bills, but I don’t know where the money will come from.”
Five minutes later—yes, just five minutes!—I received a phone call. Not only was the money I needed sent to me through CashApp, but I received even more than I had asked for.
This wasn’t the first time God came through for me like this, and it won’t be the last. He is faithful, and He always provides exactly what we need, often in ways that exceed our expectations.
This isn’t the first time God has come through for me like this, and it won’t be the last. He is faithful, and He always provides exactly what we need, often in ways that exceed our expectations.
Jehovah Jireh: The Lord Will Provide
One of the most well-known examples of God’s provision comes from Genesis 22. When Abraham was called to sacrifice his son Isaac, God intervened at the last moment, providing a ram for the sacrifice instead. Abraham called that place "Jehovah Jireh," meaning “The Lord Will Provide.” This story reminds us that God always provides, often just in time and in ways we don’t expect.
Throughout Scripture, we see evidence of God’s provision. In the wilderness, He provided manna for the Israelites (Exodus 16), and in the New Testament, Jesus fed over 5,000 people with five loaves and two fish (Matthew 14:13-21). Each story shows us that God’s provision is timely, sufficient, and often miraculous.
The Power of Consistency
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the power of consistency. Reaching 100 posts wasn’t about one big effort but rather about showing up, day after day, week after week, even when it was hard. There were times when I felt tired, uninspired, or unsure if my work was making a difference. But I kept going, knowing that faithfulness would yield fruit in due season.
Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)
"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."
This verse became a guiding principle. It reminded me that the harvest doesn’t come immediately after planting the seed. It takes time, effort, and perseverance. Consistency, even when results aren’t visible, is key to success.
Embracing the Process
Growth is a process. It doesn’t happen overnight, and it often involves challenges that stretch us beyond our limits. There were moments of doubt, frustration, and even failure. But each of those moments taught me something valuable. They shaped my character, deepened my faith, and strengthened my resolve.
James 1:2-4 (NKJV)
"My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."
This scripture encouraged me to embrace the process, even when it was difficult. Trials are not meant to break us but to build us up and prepare us for the next level.
Celebrating Small Wins
Every milestone along the way, no matter how small, deserves to be celebrated. Reaching 100 posts is a significant accomplishment, but it was made possible by recognizing and appreciating the smaller wins along the journey. Whether it was completing one post, receiving positive feedback, or simply pushing through a tough week, each step forward was worth celebrating.
Psalm 126:5-6 (NKJV)
"Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him."
This verse beautifully illustrates the reward of perseverance. The tears we shed while sowing seeds will one day be replaced by joy when we see the harvest.
Trusting God as Our Provider
Trusting in God’s provision requires faith, especially when circumstances seem uncertain. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) reminds us:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
This has been a cornerstone of my journey. Trusting God, even when things didn’t make sense, allowed me to keep going with confidence.
Living with Gratitude
Recognizing God as our provider leads to a life of gratitude. When we remember that every good and perfect gift comes from Him (James 1:17), our hearts overflow with thankfulness. Gratitude shifts our focus from what we lack to what we have, fostering contentment and joy. It’s a reminder that God’s provision isn’t just about material blessings but also about His presence, guidance, and love.
